Description of the project and Services provided:

    The programme had a five year duration and aimed at the institutional strengthening and capacity building of about 68 African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) States in the fields of:
  • Fishery products hygiene and quality controls and inspection
  • Set up of testing laboratories, training on microbiological and residue monitoring;
  • Training of ACP Competent Authorities, Inspection Services and Technical institutes
  • Strengthening of small-scale fisheries, policy studies and Needs Assessment studies
  • Good manufacturing practices of fishery industry and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) training
  • The services provided were:

  • Project / programme feasibility studies,
  • Project Management/coordination
  • Quality management
  • Project / programme identification, planning
  • Institutional capacity building
  • Sectoral policy design
  • Production of quantified key indicators
