The project has the overall aim to ensure that food security and nutrition concerns are appropriately integrated in all agriculture sector decision-making, planning, implementation and monitoring processes. More specifically Consultant will work towards attaining the following specific objectives:
• Ensure the appropriate integration of food security and nutrition concerns in Rwanda's Strategic Plan for Agricultural Transformation N° 3 (2013-2017);
• Ensure the definition and refinement of MINAGRI's institutional strategies and approaches to improve food security and reduce malnutrition in Rwanda;
• Ensure the consolidation of MINAGRI's information systems for agricultural development and food security;
• Ensure an improved cross-sector coordination, reporting and monitoring between MINAGRI and other key stakeholders involved in the implementation of the National Multi-sectoral Strategy to Eliminate Malnutrition (NSEM; 2010-13);
• Strengthen the District and other local authorities (sub-national) capacities to contribute to food security and the implementation of the NSEM.
