DETAILED DESIGN & RESETTLEMENT ACTION PLAN WITH OPTIONS FOR RAP IMPLEMENTATION & WORKS CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION FOR THE CENTRALIZED IRRIGATION SYSTEMS REHABILITATION ACTIVITY

Description of the project and Services provided:

MCA-Moldova (Millenium Challenge Account-Moldova), a public institution established as Accountable Entity for the MCA-Moldova Compact, has contracted the Joint Venture  led by AESA to provide design and work supervision support for implementation of the CISRA - Centralized Irrigation System Rehabilitation Activity, under the programme Transition to High-Value Agriculture (THVA) Project, funded by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) of the United States of America.

The types of services rendered under the implementation of this project are:
•  complementing and updating the baseline information provided by the 2009’ Feasibility Study through topographic, geotechnical, hydrological, hydro-biological, soil, water quality, socio-economic and environmental surveys;
• assessing the present status and operational conditions of the 11 selected irrigation systems (CISs) covering a total command area of 15,553 ha;
• discussing and agreeing with the Water User Associations, in the process of being entrusted with the systems management, on Design Criteria;
• performing Detailed Design, Resettlement Action Plan and Socio-Environmental Management Plan for each system;
• preparing Tender Documents, assisting in contracting the rehabilitation works and providing complete works construction supervision for each system (Client’s option);
• Implementing Resettlement Action Plan for each system (Client’s option).
• As leading firm, AESA will provide services of engineering  technical studies, operations and maintenance, and  it will also provide the Project Manager for the entire duration of the contract and two key experts (Resettlement Specialist and Environmentalist)
