The objective of the project "Development of a National Animal Identification and Traceability System (NAITS) database in Georgia" is to develop and deliver a Strategy Plan (SP) for the implementation of a NAITS that integrates data associated with different applications such as animal inventory, movement and slaughtering; animal health and disease monitoring.
The SP will address all the relevant livestock species and their production and marketing chains, account for national livestock development objectives and consider the context of existing financial and human resources and infrastructure. It will identify gaps in human resources and infrastructure and will include realistic proposals to bridge these gaps.
The SP will be developed in two steps. Initially, the Contractor will develop an outline SP that will be provided to the FAO and MoA for comments and feedback. Subsequent to approval by and addressing comments from FAO and MoA, the Contractor will prepare and deliver a comprehensive detailed NAITS SP document. The SP document will include a time-frame for the customisation and deployment of the NAITS
